Anthony Carter

Anthony Carter Jr. is a South Florida native and senior at Florida International University who likes to combine his passion for film and television with journalism to visually tell compelling stories. His interests are entertainment and news. He uses the two mediums to bridge the gap between nonfiction yet entertaining storytelling.

Carter began his career in sports analytics in 2024 as a camera operator. He has provided play-by-play footage for over a hundred youth and high school football games and continues to work as a sports camera operator in 2025. Carter has experience writing articles about the NBA, NFL, and MLB. He has also written feature articles covering health insurance and politics. He also tells stories through screenwriting and video production.

Carter has written, directed, and edited numerous student films. He has self-produced a short documentary titled “Who is Spike Lee?” which he published on YouTube. His creative direction on international podcasts and music videos has earned him the title of multimedia specialist, though he aspires to be a screenwriter/director/art director. He is currently interning for Island Tv as a production assistant and audio engineer. Carter is certified in Adobe Premiere and After Effects. He also has over 5 years of experience editing audio in Avid Pro Tools.

Carter has an associate's degree in film production technology. He will graduate from the Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media with a bachelor’s degree in digital communication and media in Fall 2026. Carter will attend graduate school at Florida International University where he will study global strategic communication.
